Crochet

I have been so addicted lately to crocheting. I was taught by my mom when I was a young child. And I hold this talent special because it was taught to me by her and she was taught by my grandma on my dad's side. This is a family talent that has been passed down from generations. I have been lately working on Granny Squares for a swap on one of my favorite group websites. The website is Cafemom.com

I have made many baby blankets for my own sons and for my family and friends. I enjoy being able to see the reactions of thier faces when they find out that I made it special for them.

I have lately made sweaters for both of my boys. Trent loves wearing his. It makes me so happy that my kids enjoy what I make for them.

I have also made purses and am currently making me a sweater for me too.

Crocheting helps me relax and feel closer to my mom.

One Year

Well it has been one year on the 4th of Feb since my mom passed away. Something sad happened last week. Prophet Gordon B. Hinkley passed away. My mom was probably so excited to finally be able to meet him and probably tried to be there when he entered into heaven to greet him. He will be missed. He was a great prophet and man. President Monson said: “‘Here and there, and now and then, God makes a giant among men.’ President Hinckley was such a giant – a giant of knowledge, of faith, of testimony, of compassion, of vision.” This is quoted from President Hinckley's funeral.
My mom and President Hinckley are sadly missed in our family. My boys loved their grandma.

I miss my mom and wish that she was still here. But I know that she is better off where she is. She is out of pain and with her big brother and her husband again. My dad passed away 5 years before she did. My mom was my best friend and she taught me how to be a good mother, wife and loving friend.

Mom I love you and am glad that you were my mother.
