4th of July

Well the 4th of July was a fun and exciting time in our family. We always go and see a movie in the morning of the 4th. So we took the boys to see Wall-e. They loved the movie and actually sat through the whole thing.

We then went to the fireworks stand and bought fireworks to light of that night. Another family tradition that we do is we BBQ Tri Tip and have homemade potatoe salad. I made my mom's famous homemade potatoe salad the night before to have for the 4th. It turned out very good. I was amazed that it came out has well as it did. The boys went swimming and had fun that way too. And then we waited to get dark and we went out and light of the fireworks. But of course we needed a lighter stick to be able to do that. So Eric went down to Walgreens to get that and on his way there his white Mazda brokedown. We had to push it to the parking lot and then we went on and got some ice and the lighter stick and went home to finish off the 4th with the fireworks.

The boys really enjoyed this years 4th of July. Of course each year I get them matching shirts for the 4th. Here they are in them.

And this year Trent got daring and wanted to help light the fireworks. Here he is with Grandpa helping him.

And he would run away to watch what happened.

We all love watching the fireworks but I think the boys had more fun lighting them off.
